In continuation to week twenty-nine, here are a few thoughts and things that caught my attention in week thirty, 2023:
π€ My oldest son had just recovered from COVID-19 when, all of a sudden, I found myself down with what seemed like a summer cold (not COVID) - severe sore throat, a lot of nasal congestion, and some coughing - since mid-week. I had a few days off and had planned to re-spoke my son's rear wheel and do some enjoyable things. However, fate had other plans. To top it all off, we had to pick up our youngest two days after he left for a summer trip, as he had broken a metacarpal bone. It wasn't exactly the best week for us.
πΆββοΈ Therefore only 45 km by bike and 51 km, including 25 km with the dog, by foot.
β I finally deleted my twitter account. I had already switched my account to private and removed all followers some time ago.
π I find it lovely that a few people, such as Michael, William, Alex, and thatkruegergirl, have started blogrolls on their websites. It's a very nice way to reference the many small, individual sites, mainly from the omg.lol and micro.blog community. I really want...
What caught my attention in week twenty-nine, 2023
In continuation to week twenty-eight, here are a few thoughts and things that caught my attention in week twenty-nine, 2023:
π΄ This week I cycled 86 km and walked 49 km, including 24 km with the dog.
πΏ It's been a rather quiet week in terms of new apps and my own Mastodon usage. But I spent quite a bit of time playing with the Dataview plugin and the Templater plugin for Obsidian. They really take Obsidian to a whole new level. Even ChatGPT was finally a real help to me as it could write me Java Script functions for Templater. In addition, I was happy to see the new version of Actions for Obsidian.
π For over half a year, I have been maintaining a sourdough starter, and my wife and I bake our own bread with it, more or less regularly. As a result, I took a look at Join the Rise β Bread Baking beta. However, I didn't want to do rocket science and also got overwhelmed by all the English terms and strange units. So, for now, I'll stick with the bread baking book we own.
β Last week I've mentioned Habit Tracker: Peat and βChronicling - the latter I still use on a daily. If you're not interested in yet another app subscriptionTM and Streaks is not...
What caught my attention in week twenty-eight, 2023
In continuation to week twenty-seven, here are a few thoughts and things that caught my attention in week twenty-eight, 2023:
π΄ After more than three quarters of a year, today was the first time my wife and I cycled together with friends again. We used to do this regularly during the pandemic, but after the winter break, we somehow couldn't manage to resume our cycling sessions. The rides with the four of us are in general more relaxed than when I ride alone with my wife. And occasionally, it's also very nice to slow down a bit and talk about God and the world instead. Hopefully, we can make it a more frequent occurrence once again.
π΄ This week I cycled 123 km and walked 63 km, including 20 km with the dog.
π My son has new glasses and I am very jealous because he can now see clearly again and I can't bring myself to go to the optician and spend a lot of money so that I can do that too. Of course, this is totally stupid because it limits my quality of life for 17 hours every day. There are hardly more useful things I could spend money on.
π± So, the Indie Dev Sales (or is it the Indie App Sales π€), initiated by Matt Corey, for macOS...
