What caught my attention in week thirty-five, 2023

In continuation to weeks 32 - 34, here are a few thoughts and things that caught my attention in week 35, 2023:

• 🚴 This week I cycled 121 km and walked 58 km, including 19 km with the dog.

• 🖨 Nice idea: MakerSkillTree - A repository of Maker Skill Trees and templates to make your own. Will start with the 3D Printing and Modelling Skill Tree.

• 🏷 It’s Yoink for Mac’s 12-year anniversary! (Sale!) – Eternal Storms Software's Blog: Steep discount and no subscription. Great app.

• ⚙️ 1Piece - Multifunctional App for Mac. 1Piece includes many features to improve the usability of your Mac. Window List that displays the list of all your open windows, a feature that switches the Space or the active window by using Hot Corner, a feature that resize and reposition the window and so on. Looks like an app you'll need some spare time to dive into.

• 📆 Menu Bar Calendar - A monthly calendar, one click away: It's the younger sibling of Dato and free.

• ⌨️ If you're looking for a text editor, Chime might be one to try: Capable. Focused. Fast. An open source editor for macOS.

• 🖼 qView - Practical and Minimal Image Viewer was updated as well: qView is a lightweight image viewer designed with minimalism and practicality in mind, available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

• 📺 Picture-in-picture all the things - PiPHero is a macOS menu bar app that allows you to view any of your application windows in picture-in-picture mode, so you can keep an eye on them while multitasking.

• 🕹 I bought LUNARK on Steam for macOS: A pixel-art sci-fi adventure set in the midst of a rebellion against a totalitarian regime, LUNARK is a modern take on the 2D cinematic platformer genre of the '90s.

• 💿 Longplay 2.0 was released for iOS and iPadOS.

• 📷 Obscura — Pro Camera was updated as well and switched to a subscription model.

• 📷 ‎Cinemin by Tinrocket - ‎Capture your imagination with Cinemin! Experience the vibrant world of animation, vividly presented with real-time effects. Looks interesting, too.

• 🐦 ‎Ollie’s Arcade - ‎Relive fond memories of your favorite classic arcade or electronic handheld games! A fun collection of retro-styled mini games that are both challenging and simple to play. It is exactly that.

• 🔈 If at some point my OG Homepods stop working, I think I'll get my stereo out of the closet again and use it along with Eve Play.

• 🕹 I tried to buy an Analogue Pocket Limited Edition. It felt like an Apple iPhone release. The store went down, then came back up. I managed to add one to my cart, but had to wait in a virtual line for checkout. After filling in my shipping information, just one millisecond before pressing the final order button, the quantity was reset to 0 - it was out of stock. 😢 I'm starting to think that it's just not meant to be. Maybe I should buy a PS5 and Playstation Portal instead. Since my wife tolerates computer games on the TV in the living room only during the day from my son and I have no desire to sit in the little closet to play, the Portal would actually possibly a device for me 🤔 🤣

• 📱 I have ended my experiment of using iOS in English for now and am back to German - too much friction with Home, Siri, and Maps. macOS is still on English.

• 🎥 No movies, no TV this week.
